Custom made for a Vietnam Veteran, Marine Corp. Recon. – inlaid his jump wings in the butt of the handle, added Marine Corp “Globe & Anchor” to the front of the knife’s sheath.

401 Texas BowieModel 401 Texas Bowie: A 7″ blade of 440-C., S. S. 12 1/2″ overall. As shown with a double guard of N. S. and two sets of N. S. and red spacers. Handle is a “crown” section of sambar stag with a thick spacer in front of AZ desert ironwood. A 65 million-year-old ammonite fossil has been inlaid in the butt end. A black and silver bead with a bear’s claw “drop” was added for a western flair. The deluxe sheath has an inlay of rattlesnake skin. A round, silver concho with horsehair tassels was added to the front.

The knife’s owner requested two sheaths for this project. A “standard” style to be used as a “combat sheath” with four lashing points and two belt loops on the back. When the knife and sheath are finished with their tour of duty in Afghanistan, the knife and the second sheath will be put on display as a family heirloom.

401 Texas BowieModel 401 Texas Bowie – 7″ blade of 440-C, S. S. as shown – a matching pair of bowies, both with American walnut wood handles and matching wood scabbards, N. S. cross guard and round N. S. pommel cap. Red, white and blue spacers were added at both ends of the handles for color and contrast. The walnut wood scabbards have a band of mokume surrounding the top.
